東西8km、南北2kmの広大な貯水池、西バライ中央には小島があり、ここに残る寺院を西メボンと呼ぶ。
遺跡は部分的に残存するのみだが、残る彫刻はバプーオン様式で興味深い。
プノンペン国立博物館蔵の「横たわるヴィシュヌ神の胸像」はここの出土物である。
島までのボートは片道約10分、一隻15US$程度。休日のボート乗り場周辺は、カンボジア人の憩いの場として家族連れや若者で賑わっている。
